Job Summary

The City of Potsdam is seeking a dedicated Risk and Crisis Management Specialist to join the Municipal Crisis Management Coordination Unit (K3). In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the strategic and administrative planning of civil protection, disaster management, and civil defense. Your daily activities will include developing and maintaining Business Continuity Management (BCM) systems, conducting risk analyses, and creating risk maps for the city administration. You will serve as a key liaison to other authorities and play a vital role in the administrative crisis staff during emergency situations. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or FH-Diploma) in Public Administration, Security Management, Hazard Control, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Risk Management, Business Continuity Management, crisis staff operations, or civil protection is desirable
  • Professional experience in administrative and project management is an advantage
  • Experience in strategic planning and the development of action recommendations
  • Proven experience in interdisciplinary project work and coordination between authorities
