Job Summary

This role involves joining the Microbiome Platform team at the Institute for Clinical Molecular Biology (IKMB), a leading diagnostic center. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of biological samples, including stool, swabs, biopsies, and DNA. Key daily tasks include the manual and automated isolation of nucleic acids using extraction and pipetting robots, performing complex gene analyses via PCR and qPCR, and preparing libraries for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS). Additionally, the role requires meticulous documentation within a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and the maintenance of sophisticated laboratory equipment. Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed and state-recognized vocational training as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), Medical Laboratory Technician (MTLA/MTL), or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in molecular biology laboratory environments
  • Experience in handling and storing biological samples (stool, swabs, biopsies, DNA)
  • Practical experience with semi-automated and fully automated laboratory equipment
  • Experience in conducting complex gene analysis and library preparation
  • Proven experience in laboratory documentation and using LIMS software

Additional
