Job Summary

This part-time Research Associate position at the Clinic for Ophthalmology offers a unique opportunity for an ambitious scientist to contribute to ongoing research projects within a specialized laboratory setting. Day-to-day, the successful candidate will perform a variety of in-vitro experiments, including cell and organ cultures, and conduct molecular biological tasks such as RNA extraction and RT-PCR. The role also involves microscopy work using immunofluorescence and protein biochemical analysis through Western Blot and ELISA techniques. A key highlight of this position is the explicit opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree (PhD) while working. The role is initially limited to 14 months with a 50% workload (19.25 hours/week). Candidates will join a collaborative environment, working closely with senior scientists and colleagues, and will also be involved in supervising junior scientific staff.
