Job Summary

As a Senior SOAR Software Engineer within the Security Operations Center (SOC), you will play a pivotal role in automating and integrating security systems to enhance the organization's defensive posture. Your daily responsibilities will involve developing automations, integrating SOC systems with ticketing and log sources via APIs, and providing expert consultation to other teams on technical requirements. You will be responsible for the continuous improvement, maintenance, and monitoring of SOC platforms, including conducting Proof of Concepts for new technologies. This role is unique for its blend of classic system administration and modern software development within a large-scale public sector environment. Joining the Data and Platform Management team, you will contribute to the operational security of the German Pension Insurance (DRV Bund), enjoying a high degree of creative freedom, flexible working models with significant home office options, and a structured onboarding process in a motivated, professional team.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in IT, or an equivalent qualification such as IT-specific vocational training combined with relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Several years of relevant professional experience related to the described tasks
  • Initial practical experience in the field of IT security
  • Deep knowledge in scripting and software development using Bash, JavaScript, and ideally Go
  • Experience in data center infrastructure, operating systems, and containerization
  • Experience in coordinating and implementing automation and integration solutions
