Job Summary

As the Head of Geotechnical Engineering, you will take on a strategic leadership role focused on the technical management and development of an established geotechnical department. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from initial design and tendering to the final expert report. You will be responsible for the technical quality assurance of geotechnical reports, coordinating field and laboratory investigations, and managing drilling campaigns. A significant portion of the role involves performing and reviewing complex soil mechanics and earthwork calculations. Beyond technical tasks, you will provide professional leadership and mentorship to a team of geotechnical specialists, ensuring their continuous development. This position is particularly attractive for experienced engineers looking to combine deep technical calculation expertise with high-level project management and personnel responsibility in a permanent, full-time capacity.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable engineering science discipline

Experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering and foundation planning
  • Extensive experience in performing and reviewing earthwork and soil mechanics calculations
  • Experience in professional or disciplinary leadership is highly desirable
  • Proven track record in managing drilling campaigns and evaluating measurement results
