Job Summary
As the Head of Building Services Engineering at the Fraunhofer Stuttgart Research Campus (IZS), you will lead a team of eleven professionals responsible for the technical facility management of one of Europe's largest research centers. Your daily responsibilities include overseeing the safe and efficient operation of technical systems, managing maintenance and construction projects, and steering external service providers. You will play a strategic role in optimizing costs and team efficiency while fostering a collaborative culture. This position is unique as it serves five major research institutes across 100,000 square meters of cutting-edge facilities. Required Skills
Education
University degree in Energy and Building Services Engineering, Supply Engineering, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Several years of leadership experience in a professional setting
- Extensive professional experience in building services engineering
- Proven track record in managing technical facility projects and maintenance
- Experience in steering external service providers and contractors
- Demonstrated expertise in economic management and process optimization

Additional
- The position is located at the Stuttgart Research Campus. Compensation is based on the TVöD EG 13 public service pay scale. Full-time (39 hours/week) or part-time options are available. Candidates must be able to work on-site in Stuttgart, though flexible/remote options are available for certain tasks.
