Job Summary

This role involves the development, investigation, and optimization of high-power fiber laser designs and components at the Fraunhofer Institute for Optronics, System Technologies and Image Exploitation (IOSB). Based in the Laser Technology department in Ettlingen, you will work on cutting-edge photonic materials, laser sources, and nonlinear converters, with a specific focus on 2-µm wavelength high-power fiber lasers. Day-to-day, you will realize laser setups, create demonstrators, and conduct scientific evaluations of various fiber laser architectures. You will also be responsible for independent project management and publishing research results in both English and German. This position is particularly attractive for those looking to bridge the gap between fundamental research and practical application, specifically within the context of national defense. You will benefit from world-class laboratory equipment, flexible working conditions, and the potential opportunity to pursue a doctorate if not already completed.
