Job Summary

This role is based at the Dresden University of Technology (TUD) within the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, specifically focusing on the research project 'High-Temperature Materials for Generation IV Molten Salt Reactors.' As a Research Associate, you will conduct critical investigations into the corrosion resistance of various materials in molten chloride salts. Your day-to-day activities will involve performing static laboratory-scale corrosion tests to select high-performance materials, followed by dynamic testing in flowing molten salt environments. You will also be responsible for modifying an existing experimental facility and performing detailed material analyses to describe corrosion mechanisms. A key part of the project involves conducting structured load tests on pump components in collaboration with a renowned pump manufacturer. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge energy technology research within a prestigious 'University of Excellence' environment, bridging the gap between academic materials science and industrial application.
