Job Summary

As a Lead IT Service Technician for Europe, you will serve as the primary technical point of contact for the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) at their international locations. Operating out of Hilden, you will oversee and execute on-site IT activities across approximately 30 sites in 11 European countries. Your daily responsibilities include managing Incident and IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) tasks, administering server and network infrastructures, and performing hardware and software maintenance. Beyond technical support, you will take on leadership responsibilities by managing local portions of central projects, acting as a Release or Change Manager, and ensuring strict adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This role is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys a mix of hands-on technical work and project coordination. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an IT Systems Electronician, IT Specialist for Systems Integration, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Approximately 5 years of relevant professional experience in IT Field Service
  • Experience with international service deployments is highly advantageous
  • Profound knowledge of IT processes and experience using ticket systems and knowledge bases
  • Professional experience in commissioning and administering IT infrastructures including network and server environments
  • Experience in project coordination or leading local technical projects

  • Willingness to travel extensively within Europe (approximately 50% of working time). Valid Class B driver's license required. Ability to participate in on-call standby shifts. Knowledge of an additional European language is an advantage.
