Job Summary

As a Project Manager in Shipbuilding based in Erlangen, you will lead complex new construction projects focusing on propulsion systems, on-board power grids, and automation. You will hold technical responsibility for ensuring solutions meet quality, cost, and schedule requirements while developing environmentally friendly electrical propulsion concepts. Your day-to-day involves managing the entire project lifecycle, from analyzing customer tenders and supporting requirement engineering to coordinating with global suppliers and customers. You will oversee critical testing phases, including Factory, Harbour, and Sea Acceptance Tests (FAT/HAT/SAT), and handle professional claim management to optimize project outcomes. This role is unique for its 130-year heritage in maritime innovation, offering the chance to work on diverse vessels ranging from commercial cruise ships to naval submarines. Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field. Ideally holds a Project Management certification (IPMA Level C or higher).

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in engineering and/or project execution
  • Multiple years of experience as a Project Manager in industrial plant construction, ideally within the shipbuilding sector
  • Experience with on-board power systems, propulsion, and automation solutions
  • Proven track record in managing project costs, schedules, and supplier integration
  • Experience in conducting technical acceptance tests and customer handovers
