Job Summary
This high-level leadership position involves directing the Service and Administration department within the Environmental, Nature, and Consumer Protection sector for the Hanseatic City of Lübeck. The successful candidate will lead a team of 23 employees, overseeing personnel management, organizational development, data protection, and occupational safety. Key responsibilities include managing the department's budget, coordinating administrative matters across seven environmental authorities, and ensuring quality control for regulatory procedures in environmental, nature, and animal welfare law. You will also represent the division management, handle complex legal appeals, and coordinate the drafting of local statutes and ordinances. This role is ideal for an experienced public administration professional who enjoys shaping complex legal frameworks and leading teams in a dynamic, citizen-focused environment. The position offers significant autonomy, flexible working models, and the stability of a permanent public service contract in the historic city of Lübeck.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Master's level) in Administrative Law or a related field; alternatively, qualification for the higher civil service (Laufbahngruppe 2, 2. Einstiegsamt) in General Services or equivalent professional experience.
