Job Summary
We are seeking an Environmental Technician to join our Environment, Nature, and Consumer Protection department starting October 1, 2026. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring the hygiene of air conditioning systems and drinking water heating systems, advising citizens on environmental hygiene issues, and participating in projects like PAK monitoring and 'Good Air in Schools.' Your daily tasks will include conducting measurements and taking samples of indoor air and drinking water. The ideal candidate will have a completed vocational training as a state-certified technician in environmental technology or equivalent experience. Experience with air conditioning systems and drinking water is preferred, along with basic knowledge of legal requirements for infectious disease prevention and drinking water. This position offers a permanent contract, diverse tasks with high autonomy, and a supportive team environment within a vibrant city on the Baltic Sea.
Required Skills
Education
State-certified technician (Environmental Technology or comparable) or equivalent professional experience.
Experience
- Completed vocational training as a state-certified technician in environmental technology or comparable field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferably experience in air conditioning systems and drinking water.
- Professional experience in environmental hygiene.
- Experience in conducting measurements and sampling.
- Experience advising citizens on environmental hygiene.
Languages
Additional
- Driver's License Class B
- Willingness to perform tasks outside regular working hours (e.g., measurements, public events)
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be willing to take on responsibility and show initiative.
- Must be eligible to work in Germany (implied by job location and contract type).
