Job Summary

This PhD position offers a unique opportunity to join the Kerl research group at the University Children’s Hospital Münster, focusing on the cellular heterogeneity and communication within pediatric tumors. As a doctoral researcher, you will investigate the epigenetic mechanisms driving the transformation of primordial germ cells into aggressive ependymomas. Your daily responsibilities will include conducting CRISPR screens, performing molecular biology experiments such as RNA/DNA extraction and sequencing, and analyzing complex datasets from single-cell RNA sequencing. The role is part of the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Centre 1748, providing a highly collaborative environment involving the Max Planck Institute and other top-tier institutions. This position is particularly attractive for those seeking to bridge the gap between basic research and clinical application, offering access to cutting-edge spatial transcriptomics and bioinformatic pipelines within a supportive, interdisciplinary team.
