Job Summary
This PhD position at the Institute of Anatomy and Molecular Neurobiology involves conducting high-level basic science research into the molecular mechanisms of synapse formation and neurotransmission. The successful candidate will investigate the role of synaptic organizer molecules, specifically neurexins, and analyze defects in mutant mouse models related to neurodevelopmental disorders. Day-to-day activities include performing experiments to study synaptic function and structure both in vivo and in vitro using state-of-the-art analytical methods. This role is ideal for a highly motivated researcher looking to contribute to the field of neuroscience within a collaborative environment involving the Institute of Biophysics. The position offers a unique opportunity to work on socially significant healthcare research while benefiting from a structured academic environment, comprehensive professional development, and a competitive public service salary (TV-L E13) with a 65% part-time contract over an initial three-year period.
