Job Summary

This role involves the independent management and execution of payroll for approximately 6,500 employees within the Diocese of Speyer. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll process for a defined group of employees, ensuring full compliance with tax and social security regulations. Your daily tasks include maintaining digital payroll controls (DEKO), managing personnel master data, and calculating sick pay. You will serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding payroll inquiries and act as a liaison to social security agencies and tax authorities. Required Skills

Education

Completed commercial vocational training (e.g., Social Security Specialist, Tax Assistant, or Office Management Specialist) ideally supplemented by further certification in Payroll.

Experience

  • Proven experience in handling social security and wage tax regulations
  • Experience in communicating with authorities and social insurance providers
  • Professional background in a commercial or administrative environment
