Job Summary
As a Payroll Specialist for the Diocese of Speyer, you will join the Central Payroll Office (ZGASt) responsible for managing the compensation of approximately 6,500 employees. Your daily responsibilities include independently processing payroll for a defined group of staff, maintaining master data, and calculating sick pay while ensuring strict compliance with tax and social security regulations. You will serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding payroll inquiries and manage communication with external authorities such as health insurance providers and social security agencies. Required Skills
Education
Completed commercial vocational training (e.g., Social Security Specialist, Tax Assistant, or Office Management) ideally supplemented by further training in Payroll.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in payroll accounting or payroll management
- Proven experience in calculating social security and wage tax contributions
- Experience in communicating with government authorities and social insurance carriers
- Professional experience working with collective bargaining agreements (ideally TVöD-VKA)
