Job Summary

This full-time, permanent position based in Hannover offers a pivotal role in the amedes group's genetic diagnostics division. As a Scientific Associate, you will be responsible for the clinical interpretation and reporting of molecular (hemato-)oncology and somatic genetics data, directly influencing individual patient therapy plans. Your daily routine involves utilizing cutting-edge Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology and liquid biopsy analysis to evaluate somatic variants. Beyond routine diagnostics, you will actively optimize NGS pipelines, develop new analytical methods, and ensure compliance with ISO quality standards. This role is ideal for a dedicated scientist who enjoys working at the intersection of laboratory technology and patient-oriented medicine. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Biology or a comparable natural science field; a PhD is welcomed but not mandatory.

Experience

  • Professional experience in (hemato-)oncological or molecular pathological diagnostics
  • Practical experience with molecular biological and genetic procedures, specifically NGS
  • Hands-on experience processing peripheral blood, bone marrow, and FFPE samples
  • Experience in variant assessment according to WHO and Tier classifications
  • Preferred experience in clinical reporting and therapeutic option assessment
  • Familiarity with genetic databases and somatic variant analysis pipelines
