Job Summary
As a Senior System Engineer for Cloud Operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the digital future of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). Working within a newly formed team, you will be responsible for the operational management of cloud applications, specifically focusing on providing geographic information services. Your day-to-day tasks involve 2nd-level support for Kubernetes and Docker-based cloud services, automated deployment of containerized applications, and the continuous monitoring and optimization of the platform using logging and tracing tools. You will also be tasked with creating release and deployment plans according to ITIL standards and maintaining technical documentation. Required Skills
Education
Completed 3-year specialized vocational training plus additional certification (e.g., IT Specialist) or a completed university degree in a relevant field.
Experience
- Approximately 5 years of professional experience in a related field, or 2 years of professional experience following a university degree
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes and Docker in cloud/container environments
- Proficient handling of Git and GitOps workflows (e.g., ArgoCD)
- Experience with Helm Charts, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code
- Professional experience in automated application deployment and 2nd level support
