Job Summary

As the Lead UCC Architect for Berlin's IT service provider, you will play a pivotal role in modernizing the digital infrastructure of the city's administration. You will be responsible for designing high-level and low-level IT architectures for Unified Communications and Collaboration systems within the Berlin state network. Your day-to-day involves conceptualizing technical solutions, ensuring rigorous IT security standards, and leading technical projects to transition designs into productive operations. You will also contribute to the IT service catalog and participate in public procurement processes for hardware and software. This role is ideal for a professional seeking a high-impact position that balances technical leadership with public service. The position offers significant flexibility with up to three days of remote work per week, a dedicated mentor for onboarding, and the stability of a public sector contract (TV-L Berlin) focused on driving the future of digital governance.

Required Skills

Education

Master's or University degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field; alternatively, equivalent professional knowledge and skills.

Experience

  • Multiple years of professional experience in telecommunications and UCC solutions within LAN, MAN, and WAN environments
  • Proven, up-to-date expertise in VoIP, SIP, and modern collaboration technologies
  • Experience in creating High-Level and Low-Level Design (HLD/LLD) documentation
  • Practical experience in project management and communicating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience applying BSI IT-Grundschutz standards is preferred
