Job Summary

As an IT Systems Administrator, you will play a critical role in driving the digitalization of Berlin's public administration by ensuring the smooth operation and technical support of payment and financial systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities include system administration, user rights management, certificate management, and monitoring recurring payment processes. You will be responsible for patch management, error analysis, and ensuring secure, timely operations. Additionally, you will plan system migrations, develop test concepts, and coordinate the integration of new procedures with external service providers. This role is unique for its significant social impact, contributing directly to the reliability of the State of Berlin's financial infrastructure. You will work in a stable, permanent position within a team focused on developing secure system architectures and emergency strategies for critical financial services.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (Fachhochschule/University), or equivalent professional knowledge and skills.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the administration of specialized applications, preferably in payment or financial sectors
  • Professional experience in Windows and Linux server environments including user management and system services
  • Experience in handling banking interfaces and authentication methods such as EBICS
  • Experience with common payment and exchange formats like ISO 20022
  • Experience in the introduction or migration of IT procedures and project management
  • Experience in documenting technical processes and creating training materials
