Job Summary

This full-time, permanent position in Hannover offers a vital role in patient-oriented diagnostics within the amedes Group. As a Scientific Associate, you will be responsible for generating diagnostic reports in molecular (hemato-)oncology and somatic genetics, directly influencing individual therapy planning. Your day-to-day involves evaluating NGS sequencing, liquid biopsy results, and somatic genetic analyses using state-of-the-art tools like Varvis and QCI. Beyond routine diagnostics, you will optimize NGS pipelines and develop new analytical methods to expand the diagnostic portfolio. The role is ideal for scientists who value precision, working within certified quality management systems (ISO 9001/DIN ISO 15189). Required Skills

Education

Degree in Biology or a comparable natural science field; a PhD is welcomed but not mandatory.

Experience

  • Professional experience in (hemato-)oncological or molecular pathological diagnostics
  • Practical experience with molecular biological and genetic procedures, specifically NGS
  • Hands-on experience processing peripheral blood, bone marrow, and FFPE samples
  • Proven ability to evaluate somatic variants according to WHO and Tier classifications
  • Experience in diagnostic report generation considering therapeutic options is preferred
  • Familiarity with genetic databases and somatic variant analysis pipelines
