Job Summary

As a Scientific Associate, you will be at the forefront of genetic diagnostics, specifically focusing on molecular (hemato-)oncology and somatic genetics. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve generating clinical reports, evaluating Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data, and analyzing liquid biopsies to guide individual patient therapies. You will actively optimize NGS diagnostic pipelines and develop new analytical methods to expand the diagnostic portfolio. Working within a certified quality management environment (ISO 9001/DIN ISO 15189), you will utilize specialized IT systems and databases such as Varvis and QCI. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Biology or a comparable natural science discipline; a PhD is welcomed but not mandatory.

Experience

  • Professional experience in (hemato-)oncological or molecular pathological diagnostics
  • Practical experience with molecular biological and genetic procedures, specifically NGS
  • Experience handling peripheral blood, bone marrow, and FFPE samples
  • Proven experience in evaluating somatic variants according to WHO and Tier classifications
  • Experience in creating diagnostic reports considering therapeutic options is preferred
