Job Summary

This position within the Market Surveillance department (Unit 114 - Chemical Safety) involves monitoring legal requirements for placing chemicals, biocidal products, paints, detergents, and fluorinated gases on the market. The successful candidate will perform day-to-day oversight of substance bans, labeling requirements, and climate protection regulations. A key part of the role involves participating in European, national, and state-wide market surveillance campaigns and collaborating closely with customs and other EU market surveillance authorities. This role is ideal for a professional with a background in chemistry or environmental science who enjoys a mix of office-based legal implementation and field work. The position offers high job security within the German public service (TV-L E 13 / A 13), flexible working hours, and the potential for civil servant status (Verbeamtung). Required Skills

Education

University Diploma or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Technology, Environmental Sciences, or a comparable field with a focus on chemistry.

Experience

  • Professional experience in market surveillance and chemical safety is advantageous
  • Experience in public administration is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability in negotiation and professional communication
  • Experience in interpreting and implementing European and national internal market law
