Job Summary

As an Electronics Technician at the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research (TROPOS), you will play a vital role in supporting international scientists by translating research concepts into technical laboratory and measurement setups. Your daily responsibilities include the repair and maintenance of electronic and optical measurement systems, as well as the construction, testing, and documentation of scientific instruments. You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of electronics development, from manufacturing printed circuit boards using CNC tools and soldering components to commissioning prototypes and procuring necessary electronic parts. Additionally, you will handle building electrical installations and perform safety testing on portable equipment. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a world-renowned research environment on aerosol and cloud research, providing a collaborative atmosphere with flexible working hours and a strong focus on work-life balance.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in the field of electronics, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Experience

  • Professional experience in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related technical field
  • Practical experience in the field of optics
  • Demonstrated manual craftsmanship and technical assembly skills
  • Experience in the development and commissioning of electronic prototypes
