Job Summary

This role involves hands-on environmental monitoring, primarily focusing on the maintenance and operation of water quality stations in the Harz and northern Harz foreland regions. The Field Measurement Technician will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of measuring equipment, including the calibration and installation of measuring probes. A key part of the job is the continuous monitoring of online data streams, working with databases, and utilizing visualization tools to process and analyze environmental data. The ideal candidate holds a state-certified technician qualification in environmental, chemical, or control/measurement technology, possesses experience in data preparation and analysis, and is comfortable with fieldwork, requiring high dedication and resilience. This is a full-time, fixed-term position until April 2028, offering competitive public sector compensation and the opportunity to contribute to international environmental research at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ).
