Job Summary

This role is based within the Department of Anatomy and Molecular Embryology, an international environment focused on cell and developmental biology research and digital anatomical teaching. As a technical assistant, you will be responsible for the core histological processing of tissues, including paraffin and cryo-embedding, sectioning, and staining, as well as immunohistochemistry. The position offers the opportunity to work alongside an international team of scientists and students, supporting two English-language Master's programs. Beyond routine histology, the role involves utilizing specialized imaging software and managing laboratory organization. This is a versatile position suitable for professionals looking to apply technical laboratory skills in a high-level academic and research setting. The role is available on a full-time or part-time basis and is fixed-term until the end of 2026.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed vocational training as a Medical Technical Assistant (MTA), Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), or equivalent professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience as a Medical Technical Assistant (MTA) or Biological Technical Assistant (BTA)
  • Experience in histological techniques including tissue embedding and staining
  • Experience in molecular biology and protein biochemistry is highly desirable
  • Experience using specialized laboratory software from Zeiss or Leica
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a laboratory setting
