Job Summary
As a Research Associate for the BAIKS project at the Technology Transfer Center for Digital Intelligence, you will drive innovation in university administration through AI-supported data processing. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve researching and developing Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and knowledge-based AI architectures. You will be responsible for designing and implementing chatbots, managing university project partners, and building a secure AI infrastructure for multi-source data analysis. The role requires a strong blend of academic research and hands-on software development, including documenting results for publication in professional media. This position is particularly attractive for those looking to work at the intersection of academia and practical application, offering a modern workspace with flexible and mobile working models within a dynamic university environment in Kronach and Nuremberg.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a comparable field of study.
Experience
- Professional experience in software development using Python, C++, or Java
- Demonstrated experience in machine learning and statistical modeling
- Experience with agile methodologies and continuous integration (CI/CD)
- Experience in research, data analysis, and technical documentation
- Experience with Open Source software components and versioning tools

- Fixed-term contract until March 31, 2028; Salary based on Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L; Requires German language proficiency at C1 level.
