Job Summary
The Technical University of Dortmund is seeking an IT Specialist to join the Inclusive Human-Robot Interactions (IHRI) department, focusing on the future collaboration between humans and technology to promote an inclusive society. This role involves developing and integrating software-based interaction and simulation environments using AR/VR technologies, including connecting hardware sensors like Optitrack. The specialist will be responsible for planning and configuring complex experimental setups for participant studies, creating visual mockups and prototypes, and managing the entire hardware and software inventory. Ideal candidates possess a degree in Computer Science or a related field, or relevant IT vocational training plus three years of experience. Strong skills in Unity, AR/VR headsets (HoloLens, Quest), and media production tools (Adobe Premiere, Figma) are highly desirable, along with good German and English skills, and a proactive, structured approach to work.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Computer Science or a related field (ideally with a focus on Media Informatics and immersive technologies) OR completed vocational training in the IT sector.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT or related field (required if vocational training is the highest qualification)
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience (required if vocational training is the highest qualification)
- Experience in conducting empirical studies
