Job Summary

This role is an exciting opportunity for a doctoral candidate to join the interdisciplinary CASCAID Collaborative Research Centre in Erlangen, focusing on the Cellular and Systems Control of Autoimmune Disease. The successful candidate will act as a central bioinformatics core, investigating the gut–joint–brain axis in arthritis and chronic inflammation. Day-to-day tasks involve the independent analysis and interpretation of complex human and murine multimodal omics datasets, including single-cell sequencing (scRNA-seq), spatial transcriptomics, bulk RNA-seq, proteomics, and metabolomics. The core responsibility is developing and applying bioinformatic workflows for data integration and predictive modeling to identify novel therapeutic targets. This position requires a Master's degree in Bioinformatics or a related field, a strong background in bioinformatics, and proven experience with R and Python programming. The role offers integration into the LIFE@FAU graduate school, access to state-of-the-art technologies, and the chance to make significant contributions to publication-oriented research within an internationally connected clinical research environment.
