Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join a DFG-funded three-year project focusing on Intravoxel Incoherent Motion (IVIM) MRI at the University Hospital Erlangen, Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of advanced MRI sequences and evaluation methods, conducting MRI scans on phantoms and human subjects, and meticulously evaluating the resulting data. A core part of the role involves translating research findings into clinical applications and publishing results in high-quality scientific journals. This position is ideal for a PhD holder in MRI or medical physics with a strong interest in translational research and method development. The role offers access to state-of-the-art MRI scanners (0.55 T to 7 T) and a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment with close ties to leading MRI vendors and clinical radiologists, providing strong support for independent research and career growth.

Required Skills

Education

PhD in MRI physics, medical physics, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field

Experience

  • Prior experience in IVIM and/or diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) is ideal
  • Professional experience in method development and translational research
  • Experience working independently and in an interdisciplinary team
