Job Summary

This role is a fixed-term, full-time Research Associate position (E13 TV-L) within the Institute for Computer Science, specifically the Chair of Artificial Intelligence, starting April 1, 2026. The successful candidate will join a DFG-funded project focusing on applying Large Language Models (LLMs) to archive file systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include executing project tasks, conducting independent research aimed at a PhD or Habilitation, publishing findings in conferences and journals, and supporting scientific event organization. Key requirements include a Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, strong knowledge of Agentic AI, LLMs, Knowledge Graphs, and the Semantic Web, and practical experience with software development and agentic frameworks like LangChain/LangGraph or Autogen. This position offers an opportunity to work in an internationally visible research group, receive active scientific mentorship, and contribute to cutting-edge research in hybrid AI and its applications in archival practices.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Media Informatics, Software Engineering, or comparable studies

Experience

  • Experience in software development (including Python and Kotlin)
  • Experience with agentic frameworks such as LangChain/LangGraph and Autogen
  • Experience with the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
  • Motivation for scientific development (Promotion/Habilitation)
