Job Summary

This position seeks a highly motivated Research Associate to join the Institute for Geophysics and Geoinformatics, focusing on developing non-destructive testing methods for structural analysis into a market-ready product. The core mission is to successfully spin off an innovative tech startup. Day-to-day responsibilities include mastering non-destructive testing of concrete structures using ultrasound, certifying testing procedures, recording and interpreting safety-relevant data for integrity assessment, and presenting findings at conferences. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture, possesses entrepreneurial spirit, and is prepared to assume a key role as COO in the founding team, offering a long-term opportunity to build a successful high-tech startup.

Required Skills

Education

University Diploma or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or comparable field

Experience

  • Experience in structural testing, condition assessment, or structural diagnostics (advantageous)
  • Professional experience building personal networks with developers and engineering offices
  • Readiness to take on responsibility and act as a key member of a founding team
