Job Summary

This role involves working as a Research Associate within a publicly funded joint project focused on developing sustainable olefins and kerosene components using CO2-based Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and physicochemical characterization of novel iron catalysts, and investigating their activity and selectivity in converting CO2 and H2 into short-chain olefins (ethene and propene) and liquid hydrocarbons suitable for 'green' jet fuel. Key tasks include determining optimal catalyst properties, post-processing liquid products (e.g., hydrotreating), and scaling up catalyst preparation and synthesis to generate liter-scale product quantities. This position requires a Master's degree or PhD in Natural or Engineering Sciences, strong German and English language skills, and a capacity for self-directed scientific work and teamwork.
