Job Summary

This role is for an experienced Trapped-Ion Development Engineer to join an international Research & Development team focused on making quantum computing a reality. Day-to-day responsibilities include driving the development of cutting-edge ion trap chips and their integration into quantum processing units. The engineer will characterize ion trap devices under cryogenic and ultra-high vacuum conditions using stabilized laser systems, and design and deploy hardware and software for automated testing and operation of surface ion traps. Key qualifications include a PhD in Physics, Quantum Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, coupled with 3+ years of hands-on experience in ion trapping or quantum optics. The position also involves authoring technical reports, collaborating with internal and external partners, and mentoring Master and PhD students, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of quantum technology.
