Job Summary

This role involves leading the Food Technology laboratories in Vienna, focusing on operational management, safety coordination, and advanced analytical work. The successful candidate will coordinate laboratory staff and tasks, ensuring compliance with ISO 45001 standards, and acting as the designated person for First Aid, Fire Safety, and hazardous materials management. A core responsibility is the operation, maintenance, and method development for the HPLC system, including analysis of phenols, proteins, and vitamins. The role also requires performing standard food analyses, managing equipment maintenance, procurement of consumables, and leading the digitalization efforts within the lab, such as implementing chemical databases and lab management software. This position requires strong organizational skills, experience in food analytics, and fluency in both German and English.

Required Skills

Education

Completed relevant university degree (e.g., Chemistry or Food Sciences), technical high school diploma, or completed apprenticeship as a Laboratory Technician Specialist

Experience

  • Experience in food analytics, especially with HPLC methods and their development
  • Experience in laboratory coordination and staff instruction
  • Professional experience in equipment maintenance, calibration, and repair organization
  • Experience in procurement and inventory management of laboratory materials
