Job Summary
This permanent, full-time role as a Chemical-Technical Assistant is based in Vienna, focusing on comprehensive laboratory management and organization. Key responsibilities include handling procurement, inventory, waste management, and organizing equipment services, ensuring the continuous maintenance of lab safety standards. A significant part of the job involves the independent execution of complex microbiological work, such as sterile techniques, aerobic and anaerobic cultivation of microorganisms (on plates, in shake cultures, or bioreactors), and performing various microbiological/biochemical analyses, including assays and electrophoresis. The assistant will also actively support institutional researchers in their experiments and contribute to academic teaching by organizing and supervising practical lab exercises and safety instructions for students. Candidates must possess a strong educational background, such as a completed apprenticeship, HTL qualification, or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or Biotechnology, coupled with precision, strong self-initiative, and fluency in German.

Education
Completed apprenticeship as a Chemical Laboratory Technician, OR completed qualification from a Higher Technical Institute (HTL) or comparable vocational school focusing on Chemistry/Biotechnology/Microbiology, OR Bachelor's degree in Chemistry/Life Sciences/Biotechnology
Experience
- Professional experience in laboratory management and organization
- Professional experience in microbiological and biochemical analytical work
- Experience in the cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of laboratory equipment
- Experience in supporting and instructing students during laboratory exercises
