Job Summary

This role involves joining the Materials Testing team at a global Digital Engineering consultancy, focusing specifically on metallography. The Materials Tester will be responsible for conducting physical materials testing and initial sample inspections (Erstmuterprüfungen) on both in-house and purchased components. Key daily tasks include planning investigations, sampling, and thorough documentation. A core function is metallographic sample preparation (cutting, grinding, polishing, etching) and subsequent microscopic evaluation and structural analysis. The professional will assess metallographic findings on series and special samples, presenting results clearly to internal stakeholders (Quality, Engineering, Foundry, Goods Receipt). This requires a technical background in materials testing or metallography, strong experience with ferrous and cast materials, and fluent German language skills for effective communication and adherence to technical standards and quality guidelines.
