Job Summary

The Diocese of Speyer is seeking an engaged Climate Protection Manager to drive sustainable and climate-friendly initiatives. This role is crucial for developing and implementing the diocesan climate protection concept, focusing on energy, mobility, procurement, IT infrastructure, and real estate. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating the energy and greenhouse gas balance sheet, developing and executing initial climate protection measures, and offering consultation services to parishes and church institutions. The manager will handle process and project management, coordinate internal administrative tasks, organize workshops, and contribute to public relations efforts. The ideal candidate holds a degree in fields like Environmental Engineering or Sustainable Science, possesses comprehensive knowledge in climate protection and sustainability, and demonstrates strong project steering and communication skills. This is a two-year fixed-term project position funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, offering a chance to apply expertise in a values-driven, ecclesiastical environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (or equivalent qualification) in Environmental Engineering, Energy and Environmental Technology, Supply/Building Technology, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Environmental and Sustainability Science

Experience
