Job Summary

This role is for a scientific staff member focused on LC-MS/MS-based Proteomics within the 'Proteomics' working group at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology (IZI) in Leipzig. The specialist will be responsible for designing, executing, and optimizing robust proteomics workflows, from sample preparation and measurement using data-dependent (DDA) and data-independent (DIA) strategies, through to complex data analysis and biological interpretation. Key activities include developing and validating HPLC-MS/MS methods, ensuring the reliable operation of LC-MS systems, and maintaining high data and process quality through SOPs and regulatory compliance. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to clinical and preclinical projects, shaping the future of medicine through application-oriented research in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment, while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and mentoring students.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (M.Sc./Diplom) in Biochemistry, Bioanalytics, Analytical Chemistry, or a comparable field, ideally with a PhD

Experience

  • Practical experience with proteomics studies (planning, sample preparation, and analysis)
  • Experience in the development of HPLC-MS/MS methods
  • Routine experience in scientific data evaluation and interpretation using common software
