Job Summary

This role is for an experienced Civil Engineer specializing in structural and urban rail projects, providing operational support to the 'Traffic Transition Office' within the City of Dortmund's Civil Engineering Department. The primary focus is on ensuring the sustainable, technically sound, and economically balanced execution of light rail and structural engineering projects, taking on the crucial function of Project Manager. Day-to-day responsibilities include site management, local construction supervision, coordinating technical stakeholders, and managing all aspects of construction execution, including invoice verification and negotiating contract amendments. The ideal candidate possesses extensive professional experience in project management and construction supervision of complex engineering structures and is proficient in overseeing and controlling all operational construction processes. Education

Completed university degree (Bachelor or FH-Diplom) in Civil Engineering

Experience

  • Long-term professional experience in project management and construction supervision of engineering structures or urban rail facilities
  • Experience in overseeing and controlling all construction operational processes during civil engineering projects
  • Experience acting as the client representative (Bauherrenfunktion) for commissioned HOAI services in urban rail and structural engineering
