Job Summary

The City of Dortmund's Drainage Department is seeking an Engineer specializing in property connection pipelines to contribute to making the city water-sensitive and future-proof. This role is crucial for ensuring proper wastewater disposal by focusing on the drainage of private properties. Day-to-day responsibilities include classifying damages in property connection pipelines based on inspection videos, providing on-site consultation to property owners regarding damage remediation and rainwater management, and acting as the central contact person for citizens concerning private wastewater collection pipes. A key focus involves facilitating the separation of shared private wastewater systems, requiring strong communication and mediation skills to bring property owners together for sustainable solutions. The position requires a degree in Civil Engineering (specializing in Urban Water Management), Environmental Engineering, or related fields, alongside excellent water management knowledge and communication abilities (German C1 minimum).
