Job Summary
The City of Mönchengladbach is seeking a dedicated Media Technician to ensure the smooth, stable, and secure IT operations across 86 school locations. This role is critical for maintaining high-quality IT services, encompassing both remote and on-site support. Day-to-day responsibilities include the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktop software, hardware, and network devices. The technician will serve as the primary contact for user inquiries and technical disruptions, utilizing a ticket system for documentation and tracking. A key component of the role involves in-depth error analysis and troubleshooting in IT systems and applications, alongside contributing expertise to the ongoing development of the IT infrastructure. Furthermore, the position requires coordinating installation work for digital end devices, maintaining accurate IT documentation, and providing essential user training and consultation to promote the safe and efficient use of digital systems. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (System Integration) or State-certified Technician (System Integration) or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- At least two years of job-related professional experience (if holding a comparable qualification other than a certified IT specialist or technician degree)
- Professional experience in IT system administration and support
- Experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of software
Languages
Additional
- Minimum Class B driving license required (Fahrerlaubnis der Klasse B)
- Willingness to perform duties outside of regular service hours
- Willingness to use municipal service vehicles for external appointments
