Job Summary

This role involves contributing specialized expertise to patient-oriented diagnostics within molecular (hemato-)oncology and somatic genetics, directly impacting individual therapy planning. The Scientific Associate will be responsible for creating diagnostic reports, evaluating Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and other somatic genetics analyses, including Liquid Biopsy, using state-of-the-art technology. A key focus is the continuous optimization of NGS evaluation pipelines and the development of new analytical procedures to expand the somatic diagnostics portfolio. Candidates should possess a degree in Biology or a comparable natural science field, ideally with experience in molecular diagnostics and proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIMS) and specialized genetic databases, ensuring adherence to certified quality management standards (ISO 9001/ISO 15189). Required Skills

Education

Degree in Biology or comparable natural science field; PhD welcome but not mandatory

Experience

  • Professional experience in (hemato-)oncological or molecular pathological diagnostics
  • Expertise in molecular biological and genetic procedures, especially NGS
  • Experience working with peripheral blood, bone marrow, and FFPE samples
  • Experience in creating diagnostic reports considering therapeutic options (ideally)
  • Familiarity with genetic databases and analysis pipelines for somatic variants (ideally)
