Job Summary

This role is critical for driving the energy transition by developing consistent, cross-sectoral scenarios for the European energy system. The Specialist will leverage strong analytical and IT skills to model future energy systems, analyze large datasets, and contribute to the refinement of scenario and modeling methodologies. Day-to-day tasks include comparing and evaluating different methodological approaches, deriving insights, and communicating complex relationships and results effectively. The position offers the chance to work within 50Hertz, one of Germany's four transmission system operators, contributing to high-speed energy transition while maintaining supply security. Key requirements include a Master's degree in a relevant technical field, deep knowledge of the energy industry, and advanced programming skills, particularly in Python, along with fluent German and English proficiency.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or equivalent (Diplom) in Electrical Engineering/Energy Technology, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a comparable field

Experience

  • Professional experience in the development and preparation of scenarios
  • Experience in handling large data volumes and databases (Advantageous)
  • Experience in market modeling and the application of market simulation programs (Advantageous)
  • Experience in grid calculations (Advantageous)
