Job Summary

This role involves supporting cutting-edge research at the Leibniz Center for Photonics in Infection Research (LPI) within the Integrated Biobank Jena. The assistant will be responsible for the hands-on processing, aliquoting, storage, and retrieval of human and animal biological samples (e.g., blood and urine) using advanced laboratory automation, including pipetting robots and automated nitrogen storage systems. Key duties also include rigorous documentation within the CentraXX Biobank Information System, ensuring quality assurance by creating and adapting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and supporting analytical procedures like breath gas analysis and mass spectrometry method development and validation. The ideal candidate must have a completed technical assistant qualification (Medical, Chemical, or Biological) and possess strong organizational skills, good IT proficiency, and experience working with cells and laboratory equipment. This is a vital role contributing to the translation of new diagnostic and therapeutic methods into clinical practice.
