Job Summary

This role is for a dedicated Research Associate in Economics at the University of Rostock, focusing on both academic research and teaching within the Department of Economics. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and conducting undergraduate courses (3 SWS) in core Economics subjects, developing teaching materials, grading student work, and supervising theses. Crucially, the associate will actively pursue their own scientific qualification (PhD or Habilitation) by conducting research, writing articles, publishing in journals, and presenting findings at international conferences. The position requires a strong academic background in Economics or related fields, excellent communication skills in both German and English, and a high degree of initiative and teamwork. Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Diploma, Master, or comparable) in Economics, Business Administration, or Business Mathematics with at least a good result. If pursuing Habilitation, a completed PhD in Economics is required.

Experience

  • Experience in preparing and conducting academic exercises and seminars
  • Experience in supervising student theses and academic work
  • Commitment to working seriously and diligently on a scientific qualification project (PhD or Habilitation)
