Job Summary
The Senior Data Engineer will be a pivotal member of Roche's Pharma Technical Operations (PT) Digital and Operational Excellence (PTE) team, focusing on developing and optimizing data infrastructure to support innovative data analytics solutions within the pharmaceutical sector. This role involves designing and building scalable data pipelines for real-time and batch processing, leading the creation of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data products, and ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance. The engineer will work in multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with data scientists and subject matter experts to transform and curate data for advanced analytics and modeling approaches. A key component of the role is mentoring junior data engineers, establishing best practices in areas like DevOps and Data Streaming, and contributing to the overall digital transformation strategy of PT. Required Skills
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
Experience
- 6+ years in data engineering with experience in designing large-scale systems
- Experience in leading junior data engineers across projects
- Client-facing project experience in collaborative teams is beneficial
- 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry (Preferred)
- Experience with AI-driven data solutions and machine learning pipelines (Preferred)

- This position is for a limited period of 18 months. Primary work location is on-site in Penzberg.
