Job Summary
This role is a full-time, fixed-term Research Associate position within the Process Mining Research Group at the Institute for Information Systems (iisys), focusing on driving digitalization through applied Artificial Intelligence (AI). The associate will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing research projects, particularly in Machine Learning and Deep Learning, and contributing to the creation of scientific publications for international conferences and journals. Day-to-day tasks include supporting and independently conducting university courses, collaborating with internal and external partners, and actively shaping the strategic direction of the Process Mining research group. Key requirements include a Master's degree in Computer Science, excellent programming skills in Python, and proficiency in German and English (C1 level). This position is attractive due to its focus on cutting-edge AI topics, high degree of autonomy, and support for pursuing a cooperative doctorate.
Required Skills
Education
Successfully completed scientific university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Computer Science or a comparable field. Foreign degrees require evaluation by the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB).
Experience
- Practical experience in Machine Learning, especially Deep Learning
- Excellent programming skills (specifically Python)
- First experience in the Process Mining research area (advantageous)
- Relevant experience in university teaching (e.g., as a teaching assistant or tutor) (ideally)
Languages
Additional
- Fixed-term contract for four years under the Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act. Requires a successful scientific university degree (Master's or equivalent). Foreign university qualifications require a ZAB certificate evaluation.
