Job Summary

The Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz is seeking an Application Support Specialist to join the Campus Management System department. This role involves providing essential application support, consultation, and training to various university departments regarding the integrated Campus Management System (CaMS). Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, translating those needs into technical implementations, and coordinating system updates and bug fixes with external software vendors. The ideal candidate possesses a Master's degree, strong knowledge of university administrative processes (especially student and examination structures), and experience with CaMS platforms like CampusNet or HISinOne. This position requires excellent organizational and advisory skills, ensuring users are optimally supported through systematic process optimization and clear digital guidance materials. This is a part-time (50%), fixed-term contract until June 2027.

Experience

  • Experience with a Campus Management System (ideally CampusNet or HISinOne)
  • Familiarity with study, examination, and student administration structures at Mainz University
  • Experience with legal regulations governing student administration in Rhineland-Palatinate
  • Professional experience in advising departments on process optimization
