Job Summary
This role involves providing essential administrative and financial support to the management of the Biology Department at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Key responsibilities include managing budgets, departmental funds, and third-party grants, overseeing central procurement, and handling administrative tasks related to personnel matters, including supporting appointment procedures and preparing documentation for board meetings. The assistant will also act as a representative for the examination office concerning doctoral and habilitation matters, manage faculty events, and serve as a central contact point for staff and students. Candidates must possess a completed vocational training in administration or equivalent qualification, proven professional experience, and strong proficiency in both German (C1) and English (B1), along with excellent MS Office skills and knowledge of public administration and financial regulations.
